JACQUELINE SUTERA, DPM

Dr. Jacqueline Sutera is a surgically trained doctor of podiatric medicine specialising in the prevention and treatment of foot pathology. She graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Philosophy. She later attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine where she earned the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM).

Dr. Sutera received her post-graduate residency training at the busy level-one trauma centre at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, NY and Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. During her time there, she served as chief surgical resident and received and completed training in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery.

Dr. Sutera is Board Qualified in Foot Surgery and is an Associate of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. She is also a proud member and spokesperson for the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New York State Podiatric Medical Society.

As one of NYC's premier podiatric physicians, she is a caring, conscientious and extremely personable doctor who prides herself on being holistic in her approach to foot care. Where other doctors treat feet only locally, she has a unique gift of being able to link some foot problems to other underlying conditions taking place in the body.

BRIAN HOKE

Specialising in orthopaedic and sports physical therapy, Brian Hoke has a particular interest in the biomechanical factors influencing lower limb rehabilitation. He is co-owner and director of Atlantic Physical Therapy, a private practice in Virginia Beach, VA.

Brian is a board certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy, a distinction achieved by fewer than 600 physical therapists in the U.S. He works with athletes of all levels - from recreational runners to elite professional and Olympic athletes. He has contributed chapters to two textbooks on the treatment of running injuries.

Brian is an avid educator, lecturing extensively in the U.S. and internationally. Since 1985, he has been a faculty member of the popular continuing medical education seminar, “When the Feet Hit the Ground, Everything Changes.” He co-developed and has taught the “Take the Next Step” course since 1990. In addition, he has been an adjunct faculty member of physical therapy programs at Old Dominion University and Touro College on Long Island, NY.

Brian’s expertise in sports physical therapy is a particular asset to Vionic’s athletic line of footwear. He and Phillip Vasyli have also collaborated to create a foot orthotic designed for problems with supination - when feet roll outward too much.

JULIET KASKA

Juliet Kaska is one of the country's leading fitness experts, celebrity trainers and fitness entrepreneurs. In 2005, she opened Emerson Hall Fitness (EHF) in West Hollywood, CA, which quickly became the most sought-after boutique gym in the Los Angeles area. She then launched her brand JK Zen Fitness, with partnership locations throughout LA, and in 2010 opened the JK Fitness Pilates Studio. Juliet recently partnered with Vionic and integrative medicine practitioner Dr. Jim Nicolai to create The ZenFitness30 Method, an invigorating 30-minute workout.

In addition to her celebrity clientele, Juliet is known for creating Hollywood's favourite workout programs: The Bombshell Bride, Picture Perfect, The Red Carpet Workout, The Executive's Workout and her most popular, Pilates Burn, a high-intensity workout combining Pilates reformer equipment, traditional strength training techniques and the flow of yoga.

Juliet has consulted for and appeared on numerous programs such as Good Morning America, Dr. Phil and Entertainment Tonight. Numerous publications including Vogue, Shape, Los Angeles Magazine, People, Oxygen, Fitness Magazine, Glamour and Health Magazine have also featured her as a fitness expert.

Juliet is trained and certified in multiple disciplines, making her workout programs both diverse and innovative. She is certified as a Second Generation Master Pilates Teacher and has received dual certification as a personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In addition, yoga guru Dharma Mittra trained her as a yoga teacher.

Juliet brings a vibrant voice and unique perspective to the Vionic Innovation Lab.

DAVID ARMSTRONG MD, PHD

Trained as both a podiatrist and physician, David G. Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD, is recognised as a world leader in diabetic foot care. He is professor of surgery at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is also director of the University's Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA).

Dr. Armstrong was selected as one of the first six International Wound Care Ambassadors and is the recipient of numerous awards by national and international medical organizations, including the inaugural Georgetown Distinguished Award for Diabetic Limb Salvage. In 2008, he was elected into the Podiatric Medicine Hall of Fame. He is the 2010 recipient of the American Diabetes Association’s Roger Pecoraro Award, the highest award given in the field.

Dr. Armstrong has written more than 360 peer-reviewed research papers in more than two dozen scholarly medical journals as well as over two dozen book chapters and is co-editor of the American Diabetes Association’s Clinical Care of the Diabetic Foot.

In 2011, Dr. Armstrong was appointed chair of the World Diabetic Foot Commission of the FIP, representing clinicians from more than 30 nations. Dr. Armstrong is the founder and co-chair of the International Diabetic Foot Conference, the largest annual international symposium on the diabetic foot in the world.

In collaboration with Phillip Vasyli, Dr. Armstrong developed an orthotic with patented Glidesoft technology, which dramatically reduces pressure and shear forces. This makes it breakthrough in reducing skin lesions, infections, and ulcers for many people with diabetic foot problems.

TREVOR PRIOR, DPM

A practicing podiatrist in the UK for more than 25 years, Trevor Prior specialises in sports injuries, biomechanics and gait analysis, orthoses, diabetic foot complications and foot surgery - all topics he has lectured on nationally and internationally.

Trevor consults as a podiatric surgeon at Homerton University in London and is director of Premier Podiatry Limited, a clinic specialising in the assessment and management of foot-related conditions using advanced techniques, coordinated conservative care, and surgery, as needed. He has worked extensively with elite and professional athletes in a wide range of disciplines including football, rugby, cricket, hockey and badminton.

Trevor is also director of P2L, a company specialising in custom-made performance footwear such as its signature soccer boots, which provide a protective yet personalised fit and design. In addition, Trevor collaborated with Phillip Vasyli to develop Vasyli orthotics for low-profile sports footwear featuring studs or cleats.

With extensive training in the UK, US and Europe, Trevor is a member of a number of professional groups including the British Association of Day Surgery and British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine. He is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery, Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
